Literature 19th Century (Groups 1&2)

Aims and Objectives of the group: To cater for and promote a wider interest in, and knowledge of 19th century literature though personal reading and group discussion.

Any expertise needed: Only the ability and willingness to read one book a month.

Equipment needed (rough costs if any): All members provide their own books.

Maximum number permitted in the group: 9

Location, day and time of meetings:
A member’s home / A member’s home 2nd Tuesday of the month / 3rd Wednesday of the month 2:00pm to 4:00pm / 10:00am to 12:00noon.

A brief description of a typical meeting:
The meeting is usually starts with the leader saying a few words about the book and its author.
This is followed by a general discussion in which all members of each group take part.
The programme of books to be read in each group is set by the members of that group during the last meeting in March.
