Art Workshop

Leader/Coordinator: Brian McVay


Aims and Objectives of the group: Artistic development by improving knowledge, skills and technical ability.

 

Any expertise needed:
By the Leader – experience and knowledge compatible with the aims
By group members – preferably previous artistic experience and a desire to progress.
Equipment needed (rough costs if any): Paint, brushes, palette and support to paint on ( approx £30 if there is no existing equipment).

 

Maximum number permitted in the group: 12


Location, day and time of meetings: St Giles Church Hall Totternhoe. Tuesdays 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Three 10 session periods during the year (main holiday periods are avoided).
A brief description of a typical meeting:
1. Input from Group Leader
2. Members work on painting task. Leader provides input to individuals
3. Tea break. The homework from the previous week is assessed by the group members
4. Continuation of painting by members. Leader comments on homework then continues with the individual input
5. Homework task is set for the coming week.

 

Group description
For artists who wish to develop. The main emphasis is on the work they produced on their own at home.
Members are encouraged to study the work of established artists.
We have visited the Satchi Gallery and the V&A museum.
