Wine Appreciation 1

Aims and Objectives of the group: To understand how wine is made and to appreciate the qualities of different grape varieties.

Any expertise needed: A sense of smell and taste are ideal but not essential.

Equipment needed (rough costs if any): None - Glasses and a bottle opener are provided.

Maximum number permitted in the group: The Group meet at a member’s house and this determines the number of members.

Location, day and time of meetings: A member’s house in Dunstable. Second Wednesday in the month. 2.00 - 4.00 pm

A brief description of a typical meeting: A typical meeting starts with “Welcomes” and any “Notices”. This is followed by a member giving a description of the wines to be tasted – 2 red and 2 white. After the tasting, each member completes a questionnaire on the wines, and the results are discussed by the group. The meeting finishes with tea/coffee and biscuits.
